Call for Papers

Blended learning is learning that is facilitated by the effective combination of different modes of delivery, models of teaching and styles of learning, and is based on transparent communication amongst all parties involved with a course. Learners and teachers work together to improve the quality of learning and teaching, the ultimate aim of blended learning being to provide realistic practical opportunities for learners and teachers to make learning independent, useful, sustainable and ever growing. With today's prevalence of technologies, such as ontology, Semantic Web, Cloud technology, social networks, blended learning often refers specifically to the provision or use of resources which combine e-learning with other educational resources, also referred as a hybrid learning. These arrangements tend to combine an electronic learning component with some form of human interaction in the context of e-learning.

The goal of this workshop is to encourage activities in this topic and to bring together worldwide researchers, people from the industry and academia to discuss current challenges, prevailing technologies (Social Semantic Web, Ontology, Cloud technology, etc) and applications for enhancing blended learning and e-learning in higher education and in the workplace. Paper are solicited on, but not limited to, the following topics:

• Cloud technology
• Ontology and the Semantic Web
• Web 2.0 Applications
• Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS)
• Innovations in e-Assessment
